Touching Memories

In everyday life, we routinely engage with objects while often overlooking the subtle sensations they carry. Touching Memories begins from this condition of neglect, seeking to reawaken the most immediate and fundamental relationship between the body and objects.

Through prolonged use, objects accumulate traces of warmth and contact—sensory experiences that are difficult to articulate, yet deeply embedded in memory. These traces become crucial links between time and lived experience. Through artistic transformation, such latent sensations are rendered visible, allowing objects to move beyond their functional roles and become vessels of emotion and experience.

Here, “warmth” extends beyond physical temperature; it refers to a state situated between bodily perception and psychological memory. The works focus on these subtle, recurring sensations in daily life, bringing them back into awareness through visual form.

Thus, Touching Memories does not point to specific objects, but to the process through which human experience is formed through bodily interaction with things—laying the foundation for the later transformation of objects into carriers of memory and subjects of perception.
